Useful Information

Insurance

Liability insurance is required when driving in Florida. Please bring proof of liability insurance valid in Florida - the Declarations page with name of company and the policy number - at time of rental or you will be required to purchase SLI. Your insurance must be issued by one of the following U.S. or Canadian companies only - State Farm, GEICO, Infinity, Progressive, Allstate, USAA and Liberty Mutual for the U.S. and Aviva Canada, State Farm Mutual and Wawanesa Mutual for Canada. Florida residents must use their own personal Third Party Liability -TPL- with a minimum coverage of 1 million USD.

SLI - Supplemental Liability Insurance protects you against claims for injury or damage you cause to a 3rd party and their property. SLI is 14.95USD plus tax per day unless you purchase our CDW option that includes Liability Coverage.

CDW- Collision Damage Waiver - is an option where Horspower Car Rental waives their right to collect on damage to the rental car CDW 1- is 29.95USD per day for all car sizes. It includes a zero deductible, Theft Protection - TP, Windshield Protection and Third Party Liability Protection. CDW 2- is 24.95USD per day for all car sizes. It includes Liability and Theft Protection but does not include Tires or Windshield Protection. It has a 500USD deductible. CDW 3- is 19.95USD per day and includes Liability Protection. The deductible is 1500.00USD. CDW 4 - is 14.95USD per day and includes Liability Protection with a 2500USD deductible. Glass and Tire Protection is available at 5.95USD per day. All options are taxable.

You MUST provide a Police Report in order for Insurance to cover any accident and notify us immediately.

Should you choose not to purchase our CDW you are responsible for any and all damage or loss to the rental vehicle. Should you choose to rely on Credit Card coverage or coverage purchased on a website a credit card deposit of 1000USD will be required at the time of rental and held up to 20 business days after the return of the vehicle with no damage. If damaged you will be responsible for any or all damage or replacement of the vehicle prior to your departure. You may seek reimbursement ater you return to your residence.

Fuel

Fuel is not included in the rate. All cars are provided with fuel and should be returned with the same amount of fuel as received in order to avoid a locally determined refueling charge We do offer prepaid fuel options for our customers convenience. Please ask our rental agent at time of rental. Credit is not issued for unused fuel.

One Way Rentals

Vehicles must be returned to our Rental location or the customer will be responsible for all costs incurred to return the vehicle to our offices.

Driver Qualifications

All Renters are required to have a Valid Drivers License with a clean driving record from their country of residence for at least 2 years as well as a valid major credit card in his or her own name. If their Drivers License is not in the Roman alphabet a valid Intl Drivers License is required and they must present their passport. Proof of Third Party Liability Insurance as well as Collision and Comprehensive coverage for our rental vehicle must be presented at time of rental or purchased at the rental counter.

Additional drivers MUST meet the same requirements as the Renter Each additional driver will be charged a surcharge of 9.99USD per day-max 99.99USD. Spouses are charged 3.75USD per day.

Drivers must be at least 21 years of age - maximum is 75 years. Renters between the ages of 21 and 24 will be charged an underage surcharge of 15.25USD per day.

All fees and surcharges are taxable.

Credit & Debit Card Policy

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Debit, prepaid cards or cash are not accepted for rental. Renters must present a valid credit card listed above in their own name with sufficient funds to cover the estimated rental plus the security deposit even if the rental was fully prepaid.

The security deposit will be taken on all rentals for up to 10 business days after the vehicle is returned on time with no damage. The deposit amount depends on the terms of the rental. If CDW 1 is purchased the deposit is 250USD. If CDW 2 is purchased the deposit is 350USD. If CDW 3 is purchased the deposit is 750USD. If you choose to use your own coverage and accept the Toll Pass the deposit is 1000USD. Florida Residents and Renters who decline our coverage and the Toll Pass have a deposit of 2500USD.
